Life House Hostel publishes plain-English guides to everyday online accounts — signing in, signing up, changing a setting, and closing an account for good. If you arrived from a search like “how do I permanently delete my Facebook account”, the answer is at the top of the guide, not buried under an introduction.
What we cover
- Facebook — creating and deleting accounts, Pages, Messenger, Marketplace, Lite, notifications and blocked lists
- Email and sign-in — AOL Mail sign-in and sign-up
- Accounts on other consumer services, including Match.com and Big Fish Games
How the guides are written
Guides are numbered steps, one action per step, with on-screen button names in bold. Android, iPhone and desktop get separate steps wherever the screens differ. Anything irreversible — deleting an account, wiping data — carries an explicit warning about what comes back and what doesn’t, plus the grace period if one exists.
Where a step depends on a company’s own policy, we link to that company’s official help page. Their page is the authority; ours explains it.
About the name
lifehousehostel.com is a legacy domain. The name predates the site’s current content and does not refer to a hostel, guest house or any accommodation business. We would rather say that plainly than let a visitor arrive expecting a booking page.
Independence
This is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Meta Platforms, Inc., Yahoo/AOL, Match Group or Big Fish Games. Those names appear only to describe the services the guides explain, and all trademarks belong to their owners.
Found a mistake?
These services redesign their apps often, and a guide that was right last month can be wrong today. If a step doesn’t match your screen, tell us — use the Report a problem link at the bottom of any page, or the Contact page. Error reports jump the queue.
