Red Alert Notification

These are Facebook notifications that appear above with different symbols representing what you are being notified of. Once you have a new notification, a red bubble pops up with the number of new notifications you’ve received.

Push Notification

Facebook Notifications Settings – How to Turn Facebook Notifications On and Off

Facebook notifications can sometimes be distracting and are quite consuming if they are too much. The good news is, you can turn them off.

However, you can’t turn off notifications entirely, but you can choose what you’re notified about and how you’re notified.

You can change what you get notified about when you’re on and off Facebook.

While push notifications are sent to you when you aren’t using Facebook, in-app notifications appear as notification dots.

To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the website: www.facebook.com
  2. Carry out the Facebook login process if necessary.
  3. Click Account in the top right of Facebook.
  4. Select Settings & Privacy, then click Settings.
  5. Click Notifications on the left-hand side.
  6. Click to adjust how you get notifications and what you get notified about.
  7. Click the “Turn off” button to the right of all notification types you wish to turn off.
